SAI hosted a panel discussion and live demonstration of the FairCapacity platform to mark the official launch of the platform and Production Capacity Calculator in Bangladesh. The event featured speakers from GSCS International Ltd., The European Union, the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery (GFEMS), the Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD), BGMEA and Team Group, Fair Labor Association (FLA), Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS), Entrust Fashions Ltd., Renaissance Group, and Vertru.
Attendees had the opportunity to take a first look at the FairCapacity platform and participate in the panel discussion with industry representatives. This panel discussion covered topics including (but not limited to): the challenges to production capacity planning, the importance of responsible transparency in the apparel supply chain, production planning, capacity utilization, purchasing practices, the impact of COVID-19 on the apparel industry, and building back better through technology.
