SAI joins with 7 organizations that represent international garment, footwear, and travel goods brands and retailers in signing a letter to the Cambodian government urging immediate action on ongoing human rights concerns.
In 2018, we wrote expressing concern over lack of progress on commitments to workers and a business environment with weakened protection for human rights. Having seen little or no progress on our recommendations, we write again urging the government to follow through on their commitments to protect workers’ rights and livelihoods.
This message is even more urgent now, as the international community has taken notice of the labor and human rights situation in Cambodia, with both EU and US reviewing Cambodia’s preferential trade status.
