Pillars in Practice Case Study: Bangladesh

cover of Bangladesh PIP case study report

This case study is one of three published as part of the Pillars in Practice (PIP) Program to advance the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).

This case study follows DBL Group, one of the largest ready-made-garment manufacturers in Bangladesh. It tracks the changes that occurred in DBL Group’s business operations as it participated in the PIP project and implemented the UNGPs. The case study is presented as a timeline: describing how the organization understood the UNGPs when it started the PIP Program, their participation in PIP’s capacity building activities, their use of technical assistance, and how DBL Group applied the UNGPs to its business practices at the end of the program.
