Getting Started with SA8000:2026® and Due Diligence + Guided Self-Assessment


This online on-demand training course provides an introduction to Human Rights Due Diligence, the SA8000:2026 Standard, and the SA8000 Certification Program. It is recommended for all relevant personnel at companies or organizations interested in pursuing SA8000 certification to ensure a common understanding of SA8000 Principles and Management System expectations prior to undergoing the certification process. It is also useful for personnel at any company or organization seeking a better understanding of how their social performance compares to international standards.  

In this interactive course, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of SA8000:2026 Principles and learn how to prepare for SA8000 audits—including how to perform a risk assessment, stakeholder engagement, a guided self-assessment against SA8000 requirements, and more. 

Duration: Approximately 2 hours for training, plus the time you choose to spend on the self-assessment

For SA8000 Certification

All currently certified organizations and those seeking SA8000 certification or re-certification must complete this course before December 31st, 2026.

In order to meet the requirement, you must first register for the SAI database and receive your Org #. If you do not enter a valid SAI database Org # when taking the course, your participation may not be recorded for certification purposes.

The SA8000:2026 self-assessment is provided as a learning tool for companies. While SAI collects the results for aggregated analysis, your scores and any information you provide will never be shared with auditors or be reviewed during any SA8000 audit process. Only the status of the organization’s training completion and self-assessment submission will be reviewed for audit purposes.
